Lotso aint having any of your bullshit Andrew keenan-bolger
And if they break it, there’s a hoover fixer sucker guy a few streets down!!!
Please tell me I’m not the only one who thought this…
Tonight was stellar.
Went to see The Best Man which had John Laroquette, Angela Lansbury, James Earl Jones, and Kerry Butler (among others). It was good, but I don’t know when the last time I saw a show with three acts was.
Then… while waiting for JEJ at the stage door, who should we see walking home from his own theater, but Steve Kazee!!!!!!
So of course there were gratuitous squee’s all night. :-D
I can’t stop listening to this today.
Tony Awards Appreciation Day
I swear, today will be Tony’s appreciation day, and then I’m done.
I would just like to say that I am incredibly happy that a small, low budget Irish film turned intimate musical was able to beat out a Disney production. It’s like revenge for the fact that The Lion King won over Ragtime in ‘97. I’m so proud of Once for being beautiful and honest, and I’m so happy the Tony voters were able to look past the money they would make to see it.
Also, Audra McDonald is my absolute favorite person in the entire world and her family is so gorgeous and adorable and I wish her and Will would adopt me.
Also, also, I’m so glad that Hugh Jackman was honored for his work with BC/EFA. He really cares so much about the theater and the larger community goals. It makes me really happy to say that I volunteer in the same organization as Hugh Jackman and even though I usually don’t get more than one or two hundred dollars in my bucket when I volunteer, and he got two million, we’re fighting for the same cause.
This play killed all of my feels last night.
Just saw Once: The Musical
IT WAS AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!! Seriously. The set, the costumes, THE LIGHTING. I FUCKING LOVE THE LIGHTING FOR THAT SHOW. The way it was orchestrated. Everything about that show is genius. The ending kinda snuck up on me, but I have thought about it and decided it was an acceptable ending. There was also a whole lot of Irish music at the start, and then a whole lot of pop songs throughout. More Irish tunes would have been nice. But seriously. The cast wins. There was a guy dancing with an upright bass! I can’t rave enough about this show.
Seeing Once!!!!
So excited!
